Whether acoustic or electric the versatility and popularity of the guitar is undeniable.

Usually having 6 but ranging anywhere from 4 to 18 strings, the guitar is played by either strumming its strings with your thumb, a pick, or by plucking individual notes with the fingers of your left hand, known as finger picking.

The guitar is used in a wide variety of musical genres worldwide. It is recognized as a primary instrument in genres such as blues, bluegrass, country, flamenco, folk, jazz, mariachi, metal, punk, reggae, rock, soul and many forms of pop.

From sweet serenades, to rock show solos, to campfire singalongs, the guitar is an awesome addition to any musical get together.

Ford’s teaching style is about finding the individual’s pace while taking them in the direction they want to go. When not teaching Ford can be found playing solo guitar every Friday night at Dos Reales, Stanwood – a position held since 2010, as well as other venues in the area.
